Neeko was the start of it all. In 1996, I was just turning 18 and getting ready to graduate High School. All I wanted was a German Shepherd puppy. I knew nothing about German or working lines, Schutzhund or anything else - other then I wanted a puppy. My parents finally agreed to buy me a puppy for my birthday/graduation present. We brought Neeko home!!! We actually were very fortunate, as he came from very good German working lines. The breeder told us his parents were trained in Schutzhund, we did not know what it was, but it seemed interesting. I began to look up information about SchH online and decided that I wanted to do it! We visited a few clubs and ended up choosing the club that we still train with to this day. While I was attending college, my mom would take care of Neeko during the day. They bonded so closely, by the time he was a year old, my mother asked if she could have him and buy me another puppy. That worked out wonderfully as that is how I bought Libby, my foundation female. We did everything wrong with Neeko, we did everything you should not do with a SchH puppy. However, even with all of our mistakes and everything we did wrong with him he became a great dog and went on to get his SchH3 title. Not only was he a nice dog on the SchH field, but he was a dog you could do anything with. Neeko did everything from SchH to herding to agility to conformation to AKC obedience (he had one leg towards his CDX!), but most importantly he was a great house dog, companion and best friend to my mother. Because of Neeko, we became involved in German line GSDs, SchH, educated ourselves on the breed and what the breed should be. Without Neeko, we would not be where we are today. Neeko was a once in a lifetime dog that we will always remember, and will always be in our hearts until we meet again.
Neeko was the sire of our A litter, which you can view on our Past Litters Page.
